FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to scrap my car?

Nothing! We will collect your car FREE from wherever you are in our service coverage area. You won’t pay anything at all – in fact we pay you for your scrap car.

What price will you pay for my scrap car?

The price we pay will depend on the car and its age. We will give you a price when you call – and that’s the price we will pay. Some companies offer you less when they come to collect your car. We will NEVER do this.

What do I need to do before you collect my car?

Make sure you have removed all your personal possessions from the car, and that you have your log book (Form V5) and your car keys. We will inform the DVLA that we have scrapped your car. If you have lost your log book, we can still scrap your car – just let us know when we arrange collection.

How quickly can you collect my scrap vehicle?

We collect your vehicle for scrapping within 24 hours of your call, at a time that’s convenient for you. We can collect at night, if you are busy during the day, and we can usually collect very quickly. We can collect from any location.

Can I claim back unused Road Tax?

You can claim back your Road Tax – just get in touch with the DVLA with your vehicle details.

What if I want to keep a private number plate?

Contact the DVLA before you call us to collect your scrap car. They will give you the information and application details you need in order to keep your number plate. Make sure you have successfully transferred your number plate before you scrap your car.

Do I have to be there when you collect my vehicle?

You don’t have to be there, but we will need to collect the keys and your log book before we take your car for scrap, so please let us know if you can’t be there, and tell us who you are leaving the keys with. We will sort everything else out.
